In the first eight months of 2018, 9,727 new construction and rehabilitation licenses, an increase of 22.3%, were issued in the new housing loan grew 24.8% to 6.5 billion euros year on year.
According to AICCOPN's Statistical Summary of Housing, these figures add to the licensing of fires in new buildings, with a rise of 39.6% year-on-year to a total of 12,887 dwellings.
The report also indicates that despite the increase in new housing loans, the stock still maintains a reduction path, with a year-on-year change of -0.7% in August. As for the stock of credit granted by financial institutions to companies in the construction and real estate sector, in August, there was a year-on-year decline of 5.0%.
Meanwhile, the average value of bank valuation on housing in August was 1,196 euros per m2, an increase of 6.6% year-on-year. In the apartments, there was an increase of 6.7% and in the homes of 5.6%, in year-on-year terms.
In the Metropolitan Area of Porto, the region under analysis, there was an increase of 67.0% in new licensed buildings in August. Of these, 39.9% are typology T3, 22.3% typology T2 and 27.7% typology lower. Regarding the values of bank evaluation in housing in this region, in August, there was an increase in year-on-year terms, from 8.2% to 1,176 euros per m2.
